Just like the Pumpkin Spice Latte... Virtual Reality is back!

The virtual reality pop-up lab will start October 6th! We will offer it to guests on weekends only. They can choose to do a demo (5 minutes for free, one demo per visit) and/or a paid experience (30 minutes for $5 for both members and non-members). In Bookeo, under “Options”, enter the number of sessions the customer is purchasing and they will be charged accordingly. The VR pop-up lab will run through the end of October!

FREE DEMO INSTRUCTIONS

Included in the price of admission is a 5-minute demo of: International Space Station Tour –OR- Dive with Sylvia

To set up a demo:

1. Double click on “Oculus” on the desktop.

2. Click Settings (left side).

3. Click Beta (top).

4. Click Start (to the right of Demo Mode).

5. Check the box of the app you want. Click next.

6. Enter a time limit (5 minutes). Click next.

7. Click start.

The customer can choose one of two apps. The descriptions of each are below…


International Space Station: You are an astronaut inside the International space station! One hand holds a map of where you are in the station. The other is used to select choices. Point that hand at something and then select with “A”. Certain elements of the station are outlined in blue. After selecting those, you will watch a short video of what that element does. You can close out of the video by clicking the “X” in the upper right corner at any time. Selecting the footprints will transport you to another part of the station. When the demo mode is done, you will be taken back to the home screen (a house with a pool, etc). Please take the headset off at that time. Thanks for doing a virtual reality demo!

Dive with Sylvia: You are a scuba diver exploring the ocean! In one hand you have a flashlight that is used by pulling the trigger on that controller. In the other hand you have some gages that tell you more about your dive. You cannot control the path that you take through the ocean. When your time is up, you will be taken back to the home screen (a house with a pool, etc). Please take the headset off at that time. Thanks for doing a virtual reality demo!

ADVENTURE UPGRADE INSTRUCTIONS

Customers have the option to pay for one of two apps for their adventure upgrade. The app choices include: Tilt Brush -OR- Fantastic Contraption

To set up the adventure upgrade:

1. Double click on “Oculus” on the desktop.

2. Click Settings (left side).

3. Click Beta (top).

4. Click Start (to the right of Demo Mode).

5. Check the box of the app you want. Click next.

6. Enter a time limit (30 minutes). Click next.

7. Click start.

The customer can choose one of two apps. The descriptions are below…

Tilt Brush: You are an artist on a blank canvas! One hand (your non-dominant hand) holds a pallet of choices, with options for different mediums, colors, backgrounds, etc. The other (your dominant hand) is used to select choices. Start by selecting a color. Point your dominant hand at the color pallet. When the blue beam is touching the color you want, select by pressing the “A” button.  Once selected, hold your dominant hand away from the pallet and draw away! Feel free to change mediums, colors, etc. throughout your experience. You can also select a different background or decorate a dress form or snowman. Select the footprints to transport yourself to another space on your canvas to gain a different perspective. When your time is up, you will be taken back to the home screen (a house with a pool, etc). Please take the headset off at that time. Thanks for choosing a virtual reality adventure upgrade today!

Fantastic Contraption: You are an engineer designing a contraption! Experiment with different wheels and rods to get your contraption to move towards the pink goal. Use both hands to move and start your pieces. You cannot edit your contraption while it is moving. When your time is up, you will be taken back to the home screen (a house with a pool, etc). Please take the headset off at that time. Thanks for doing a virtual reality demo!


***If at any time you see a blue grid, this is to alert you that you are too close to a boundary (a wall, chair, etc.). Adjust where you are standing or sitting, by leaning or moving forward or backward, until the grid goes away.
