More Information
Time to get your hands dirty! Our 6-week pottery wheel course is a fun experience for those who want to learn how to use a potter's wheel to make functional art. During the course, you'll learn how to use an electric potter's wheel to create basic forms like mugs, bowls, and vases. You'll also have a chance to practice basic glazing techniques. By the end of this course, you can expect to have 2-4 finished pieces to take home. This is a great course for those brand new to pottery or for anyone who has taken a course but is looking for a refresher. WHAT TO WEAR You should be prepared to be in a workshop environment, which can be messy. We recommend wearing comfy clothes that can get dirty. ATTENDANCE It's important that you attend each class since they build off what you learned/practiced in the previous class. If you do have to miss a class, you may be able to schedule a make-up session with the instructor. Make-up sessions are $35 each. The ability to participate in a make-up session is not guaranteed and depends whether you and the instructor can find a date/time for the make-up session. You'll coordinate make-up sessions and payment directly with your instructor. SAFETY GUIDELINES Materials & equipment used in classes can be hazardous if not handled correctly and we expect all class participants to follow studio safety guidelines. AGE GUIDELINES These classes are open to adults ages 16 and older. Students ages 14 or 15 may register with a parent or another adult relative.
