WHAT IS A COMMUNITY IDEATHON?
Ideathon is an event where people work together to solve real challenges through a fun and engaging collaborative innovation process. It’s a great way for participants to experience real innovation, while making a difference and creating useful solutions. Plus, it allows every participant to have a meaningful contribution to a common goal.
At the Girls In Tech Hackathon you’ll participate in an effective innovation process, meet new people, and have fun developing viable solutions to engage more girls in tech.
When you choose to participate in the Girls In Tech Ideathon. You’ll have a fast paced and fun day. You can expect to be challenged, learn new things, share your ideas, and make a difference in the community.
Oh… and there will be great food and prizes!

Dress comfortable, but you want to look good too - you be meeting some amazing people.
You won’t go hungry. But if you have food allergies or other restrictions plan accordingly.
Bring something to write with and a laptop or tablet, if you have one. Everything else will be provided.
We’ll be placing you on randomly assigned teams for the ideation challenges and dedicated the teams in the afternoon. Teams are created to have people with a diverse set of skills that align with the challenge.
There’s nothing to prepare. Just bring your brain, an open mind and great attitude!
LOCATION + PARKING
It will be held at Creative Adventure Lab, in the John Deere Innovation Space, which is located at 210 Jones Street in Dubuque, IA. Not sure where that is? Ask Google for directions. We have free on-street parking right outside our building.
