Arts & Business Community IDEAthon

Creative Adventure Lab, Premier Bank, and the City of Dubuque Arts & Cultural Affairs Office have teamed up to create an engaging way for local businesses to support arts & culture in Dubuque! The Arts & Business Community IDEAthon is a 1-day innovation experience that provides a fun, easy, and engaging way for businesses to help 3 local arts & culture nonprofits overcome a pressing challenge or leverage a new opportunity.

Creative Adventure Lab’s signature IDEAthon process has facilitated innovation for John Deere, Alliant Energy, United Way, and others. Now your employees can participate in this exciting process to help 3 lucky nonprofits.

The IDEAthon definitely took me out of my comfort zone but it was SUPER FUN! Not only did it help three great Dubuque nonprofits, I met some amazing people in our community and learned some things about digging deep and finding creative solutions.
— Rebecca Mueller, Holy Family Schools
The IDEAthon was so much fun! We got to help non-profits in the area with specific problems. These non-profits focus on helping people in the community, which is what they do best, but needed help to know what to implement to manage their growth. It is definitely something I would do again.
— Erik Chaston, Dupaco Community Credit Union

Now accepting nonprofit entries

Entry Deadline is 5pm on December 15, 2018

Are you a nonprofit arts & cultural organization based in Dubuque, IA that would like to benefit from the Arts & Business Community IDEAthon? ? If you are, simply use the button below to enter your organization. We’ll randomly select 3 nonprofit beneficiaries, then work with you to frame & present your IDEAthon challenge.

Given the nature of the business challenge we presented at our IDEAthon, I must admit my skepticism heading into it. Not only were we given a concrete, clear, and high-potential solution in a short amount of time, but we will definitely be incorporating many elements of the Ideathon process in our organizational decision-making. If you’re lucky enough to participate in an Ideathon - DO IT.
— Matt Reetz, Executive Director, Madison Audubon Society
For a non-profit, the Hackathon is like winning the lottery! We feel very fortunate to have been a beneficiary of all the great ideas and expertise!
— Carol Gebhart, Executive Director, Opening Doors
